Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

Last weekend I had an excuse to pay a trip to my local Boots as my dry shampoo had run out but secretly I wanted to have a little browse around some of the counters and pick up some new bits and pieces. It also turned out that there was a 3 for 2 event on so not taking advantage of the savings would have been criminal, right?!

One of the things that caught my eye were the array of primers from Smashbox. Now if you read my Smashbox lipstick blog post from a few weeks back (you can find it here), you’ll know I’ve been eager to get my hands on more from this makeup brand!

These primers come in a selection of tubes suited to different skin types, ready to combat your everyday skincare issues, including blemish control, anti-shine, colour correcting, hydrating, luminizing, pore/line erasing and more. I stuck to their classic primer which claims to ‘create a perfect canvas for foundation’.

The main reason for using a primer is to create a nice even, smooth base to perfect your skin before foundation, therefore helping to achieve a flawless look – which is the holy grail of beauty no? Now I’m far from flawless but this primer made my pores appear smaller and my skin more even. After a full day at work my make up doesn’t budge or become oily which it more than often does come the evening. Whether it’s the blend of vitamins A and E, grape seed extract and green tea included in this primer but it really has made my skin look healthier, less dry and far more radiant.

Adding another element to your skincare and makeup routine can sometimes be off putting but simply smoothing a pea-sized amount of this primer over clean skin before foundation really can make all the difference so why not give it a go?! I for one will be buying the full size bottle of this stuff.

Do you have any primer recommendations to share?
