Mother’s Day fun on the farm

Yesterday we went on a family day trip to Longdown Activity Farm in the New Forest to celebrate Mother’s Day with our lovely mum. We’re big kids at heart so the farm was a great choice for a day out! If you’re local and haven’t been to Longdown Farm then you have to go. There’s loads of baby animals to see at this time of year so it’s a great season to visit (I saw a baby guinea pig for the first time in my life!). Unlike most farms, you get the chance to be really hands-on with the animals. There’s scheduled activities throughout the day with opportunities to bottle-feed the baby goats and calves and, my personal highlight, the Animal Encounter where I got to cuddle a little chick!

After a morning at the farm we headed into the New Forest to have a picnic, which included Mum’s homemade quiche and strawberry cake, yum! I gave Mum her Mother’s Day present (two tickets to see the ballet in October) then said hi to some New Forest ponies – wary after one kicked me a few years ago! It was such a great family day out and I’m so lucky to have the most amazing mum to spend Mother’s Days with. I hope you all had a fantastic day spent with your mums too! Comment below and let me know what you got up to.

This bunny was a bit of a bruiser. He was part of the Animal Encounter where you got to brush his fur – hence why he’s so fluffy!

These were the naughtiest little piglets! They wouldn’t stop play fighting

My boyfriend Kostas fancied himself a bit of a farmer but flip-flops weren’t the best choice for a trip to the farm!
