This weekend’s round-up is all about shopping! I was tempted to skip it altogether but figured you may like to see some of my purchases – besides, I posted my epic 5-day Easter weekend round-up on Tuesday so I should be forgiven for this weeks obvious lack of photos…
Saturday was spent thrift shopping at a local house clearance/junk store called Treasure Island in Poole. With overfilled boxes and furniture piled high, we had to have a really good rummage to get to the good stuff but there were so many interesting bits on offer from glass ware and vintage plates to old suitcases and retro lighting. My brother recommended the shop after picking up a floor lamp and an upcycled nest of tables for a bargain £15.
I bought some gorgeous Chinese duck egg blue ice cream bowls and plates, a pastel yellow rose print plate and matching sugar bowl and a cut glass powder pot – all for a grand total of £4! Yes, four bucks for the lot! I’m going to store jewellery in the glass pot and use the bowls for sweets and nibbles – they’re perfect for a vintage themed tea party.Today we drove to Bournemouth and parked by the Town Hall so we could walk through the gardens in to town. I dropped by Superdrug to take a look at Tanya Burr’s lipgloss and nail collection and came away with her Picnic In The Park and Champagne Toast lipglosses – I’ve read countless reviews about her range and subscribe to Tanya’s channel on Youtube so was eager to have a nosy myself. They are, as expected, gorgeous lip glosses! I haven’t been in to Primark for a couple of years (a conscious decision as I’d always come out with lots and end up binning half of it when things became stretched or worn) but I was lured in by intrigue and ended up getting far too carried away in the dress section. They had so many nice things and although I know the items I purchased won’t last forever the little amount I spent on them meant I could justify my spree!
I bought an embellished clutch which is a great dupe for similar ones found in Accessorize and Zara and five dresses that I can wear to work with black tights or with bare legs and sandals come summer – check out all the gorgeous floral prints! I’ll be blogging my haul soon to show you them properly so make sure you watch out for that. This evening K and I had a little BBQ, just me and him. K would happily cook on the BBQ every day of the week; he bought a large Weber one when we moved in to our house (his first purchase for our new home!) but this little one comes out when we cook for two. I think he’d be suited to the Oz way of dining!
