This weekend compromised of sun, DIY and the standard foodie feasts our weekends are made of. Friday we stayed in and made a big salad with steak and caught up with Game of Thrones on TV. Perfect night in don’t you think?! We also did some spontaneous baking – I’ll put the recipe on my blog next week so make sure to check back. Can you guess what they are?
Completely random but our roses have come out in bloom in our front garden and are so beautiful that I wanted to share them with you in this weekend’s round-up!
Saturday was dedicated to decorating our spare room and we managed to finish all the painting – compromising of the walls, woodwork and radiator. It’s coming up to a year since we bought the place and I’m determined to have the house complete by then. We’re going to create a feature wall with wallpaper and I’m finding it hard to decide on what wallpaper to pick. I’ve got my mind set on a cityscape design and have literally taken or ordered samples from every store that stocks the stuff. Let me know what you think of the samples below, I need some help! Our spare room is practically my dressing room so I’m keen to have it back in use quickly… Saturday evening we rewarded ourselves for all our hard work by going out for dinner and drinks. After just one cocktail we were completely exhausted so came back home and watched the new Anchor Man film on Virgin Movies. I had low expectations of the sequel considering how epic the original Anchor Man is but it was actually really funny – albeit a bit weird in places!
Sunday was another beautiful day so we went into town and had lunch on Bournemouth pier. The beach was packed and loads of people were swimming – us Brits sure do go crazy when the sun is out!
We popped round my parents in the afternoon and true to form my Mum had made some cakes! I also got to see my cat Noah who now lives with my Mum – he became best friends with her cat when I moved back to Bournemouth a couple of years ago and it wasn’t fair to part them when I moved out of home and into our new house. I miss having him around the place!
Late afternoon I did a little blogging then we had K’s family over for an impromptu BBQ – seemed rude not too considering the amazing weather we’ve had this weekend!
I hope you all had a fab weekend – we have a three-day one to look forward to next week!
