The Body Shop was one of the very first brands I came across as a young teenager starting to get into make up and beauty – I had a pot of their lip balm; it was pink and glossy and I carried it everywhere! Over the years my visits became more infrequent and it was only until a 40% off promotion newsletter dropped into my inbox the other day that I realised I’d almost forgotten the brand.
Keen to rectify this, I had a good browse of their online store are purchased a few things, from skincare to makeup. With products boasting so many amazing ingredients, including minerals, vitamins, oils and plant extracts it was difficult not to get carried away! I’ll be showing you what I picked up over the coming weeks and putting the products through their paces.
First up is The Body Shop’s Baked-To-Last Blush in 01 Petal. It’s a blusher and highlighter in one, giving you the flexibility of using the products separately or together. Slow baked on a terracotta disc, this blusher claims 8hrs of wear but it stayed on my face the entire day. Thumbs up! It’s a really pretty pink shade with a hint of coral and creates a lovely, fresh wash of colour over your cheeks. The highlighter doesn’t have the intensity of say MAC’s Mineralise Skinfinish but it does add a wonderfully soft sheen to your cheekbones giving you a healthy glow. What I love the most about this blush is that you can build up the colour slowly – perfect for achieving a natural look. It gets a big gold star from me and is an everyday makeup must-have!
