Skincare for dull skin days

The Body Shop serum and exfoliator

We all have those days when no matter what we do our skin just looks dull and lacking life. For me, this usually happens after a string of late nights, bad food and stress and this is when my usual skincare routine just doesn’t cut it. You may remember I had a little online splurge at The Body Shop a few weeks ago and reviewed their Baked-To-Last Blush; well these two life savers were also part of by beauty haul and have proven vital when those dull skin days hit!

The Body Shop Seaweed Exfoliator

The first must-have to wipe away days of bad living and stress is The Body Shop’s Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator. I find it hard to find a good exfoliator as they often contain granules that are either too large and harsh on my skin or so small that the exfoliator proves practically useless. This facial polish is the perfect consistency and gets rid of all the grime, revealing fresh, vibrant skin. If your skincare routine involves a cleanser, hot water and your hands, then it’s vital you use an exfoliator regularly. I swear by using a wash cloth as this really removes the day’s dirt, makeup and dead skin cells that can lead to blocked pores and breakouts. An exfoliator goes that extra mile to bring your skin back to life, leaving it in perfect condition to apply the next stage of healthy skin…

The Body Shop Serum-in-oil

The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil is a non-greasy formula that gives your skin 8hrs of hydration so you wake up refreshed and glowing. It left my skin feeling soft, clearer and more radiant – some serious claims but all true! It also seems to calm my skin within a few minutes of use. I hadn’t tried a facial oil before this one so I was really surprised at the results, and I love the combination of serum and oil that doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin. This overnight formula includes the highest concentration of wheatgerm oil in all of The Body Shop’s skincare line – wheatgerm oil is a rich source of Vitamin E and has brilliant regenerative powers. It’s also great on sunburnt skin so I’ll definitely be taking this bottle on holiday!

  1. I love the serum in oil! Have been using it on and off for around a month now (I don’t like to use it every night) and have had so many compliments on my skin since I’ve started using it! Will have to look in to the exfoliator, am loving body shop at the moment 🙂 x
