Last Saturday I attended the much anticipated Bloggers Festival in London, hosted by Scarlett Dixon of blog Scarlett London. I met Scarlett earlier in the year at the Bournemouth Bloggers Clothes Swap and was excited when I heard about her plans for this event!
Scarlett had done a fab job booking the most fabulous venue in central London with panoramic views of the city. I arrived alone which can sometimes be a bit daunting but it never takes long to start chatting at blogger events as everyone is always so lovely! I spotted some familiar faces from various Bournemouth events I’ve attended and got to know a few new bloggers.
Scarlett had organised a variety of brands to attend the event who had each brought some exciting products for us to see and sample. I had a lovely chat with the makers and owners of Bee Good, Simon and Caroline, who produce natural skincare in Hampshire. Simon is a beekeeper and Caroline makes their gorgeous products out of honey and beeswax in their kitchen. It was so nice to hear the story of how their brand has grown and I have huge admiration for companies like theirs.
Another brand I was unfamiliar with before the event was Danish fashion label Minimum. They had brought along a stunning rail of clothing with the most gorgeous Autumn/Winter pieces – I wanted them all! The hat I am wearing at the top of this post is one of theirs and I may just have to purchase it! Let me know if you think I should in the comment box below.
The brands and Scarlett had organised a Twitter raffle and at each of the stands we were provided with a hashtag to tweet our favourite pieces with the chance of winning some goodies. Here’s some winter boots from Ecco Shoes I was keen to win!
As a lady with long hair I was eager to chat to haircare brand Lee Stafford about their new Ubuntu Oil range, and bagged myself some samples to try, including their Big Fattest Silky Smoother blow dry brush. I will report back with my findings soon!
Other fashion brands to attend the event were Very.co.uk, Urban Outfitters and Want Her Dress, all showcasing beautiful clothing and I’m now super excited for the festive season after eyeing up so many pretty party dresses! I also have an exciting collaboration planned with Want Her Dress which I won’t reveal just yet but watch this space… There may be a bit more fashion coming your way on this here blog!
As I’m sure you’re aware, I’m a big makeup fan and was eager to try some of Oriflame‘s latest products. I had never heard of the brand so spent some time swatching various lipsticks, eyeliners and eyeshadows! Celebrity makeup artist Gary Cockerhill was on hand to do makeovers, and every girl leaving his chair came away looking drop dead gorgeous.
Cloud Nine, who make professional hair styling tools, had brought along some of their hair straighteners and curling wands to try. I’ve been looking for a large barrel curling wand for a while and they had one that took my fancy! Here’s Kris having her hair curled with one of the wands.
It certainly wouldn’t be a blogger event without yummy food and the array of cupcakes and canapés on offer looked (and tasted) delicious. I even tried my first ever chocolate pizza!
Thanks Scarlett for organising a fantastic event! I came home laden with goody bags and had such a great time meeting the brands and fellow bloggers. If you attended the #bloggersfestival then let me know. I’d love to connect on Twitter and check your blog out!
