There’s always that one ‘hard to buy for’ person at Christmas – whether it’s someone who has everything they could possibly need or someone with very specific tastes that’s impossible to shop for. When these occasions arise, I usually go for something personalised, to show that you’ve taken some time and thought into the gift, when secretly you had no idea what to get them!
So I took note when I was contacted by the lovely people at The Book Of Everyone, who make wonderful books, each filled with personalised amazing facts and interesting statistics, all told through a nostalgic glance back to the world the person or recipient was born into.
The best bit about this book? It takes 10 minutes to put together! All you need to do is provide the name of the recipient, their date of birth and gender and The Book Of Everyone does the hard work for you! I spent hours upon hours creating a personalised book for my boyfriend a couple of years back and this book takes away all that stress.
From facts like the price of milk in the year the person was born, the number one single on the week of their birth to details of their star sign, it’s a fascinating read. You can personalise further with your own touches such as photos, comments, quotes and messages, all previewed and edited via The Book Of Everyone website (it’s a corker of a site, with playful graphics and easy navigation).
I chose to make a book for my brother – now he’s pretty easy to buy for, but personally I feel this book has more of a masculine feel, filled with fun and quirky graphics, photos and illustrations, and I think it makes a great gift to peruse through on Christmas day. There’s also the choice of a personalised book for Mum, a book for Dad, tailored books for big birthdays, and even a special festive edition sprinkled with Christmas joy throughout!
The Book Of Everyone has partnered with Age UK to spread some more love this Christmas with their People Are Amazing campaign. This Christmas around 500,000 elderly people will spend the festive holidays alone so every book bought on the run up to Christmas will go towards a personalised book celebrating the life of an elderly person, tailored with stories and pictures from the person’s life and will be delivered in person during the Christmas holidays. By building a book you’ll not only be giving your mum, dad, brother or friends a brilliant personalised gift, you’ll also be bringing a smile to the face of an amazing individual.
What are you waiting for? Head on over to The Book Of Everyone website, make a book in time for Christmas and choose between a digital version, paperback, hardback or deluxe edition.
