Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions foundation | Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation
| Nars Sheer Glow foundation
I haven’t written about beauty in AGES! I was meaning to do a ‘best of 2014’ post but as it’s February I think the boat has well and truly sailed to Australia by now… But hey I can still collate some of my favourite products and these three foundations were discoveries from last year that have each made it into my favourite foundations of all time!
First up is Clinique’s offering from their Anti-Blemish range – not the most glamorous name for a foundation but it sure works wonders. I’m not really a fan of Clinique makeup but this foundation along with their loose powder are two must-haves of mine. There’s nothing worse than applying makeup to spotty skin when all you want to do is keep your skin fresh and cleansed but unfortunately its at these times you need the cover up! This is my go-to foundation during that forsaken week when my hormones wreak havoc with my skin, it provides a good amount of coverage without my face feeling clogged, heavy or oily. Priced mid-range at £24.50 it’s definitely worth adding to your collection.
Next is the first foundation I’ve used from the high street in a very long time. Rimmel’s Wake Me Up Foundation was a favourite of mine over the summer, achieving a dewy complexion and light to medium coverage. This foundation definitely isn’t one if you have oily skin and on those very hot days I’d skip it and opt for something less ‘glowy’ but if it’s healthy looking skin you’re after you’ll find it in this bottle. It’s also a great choice for winter when your skin needs that boost of radiance, and priced at just £8.99 it’s a no brainer no matter the time of year!
Finally it’s the foundation everyone’s been talking about and that’s Nars Sheer Glow. This may not be new on the beauty scene but it’s been a new addition to my makeup routine and I’ve been LOVING IT! Dewy without being oily, good coverage without looking cakey and the staying power you’d expect from a luxury brand. Yes this foundation isn’t cheap at £31 but if you buy it from Space NK at least you get reward points!
I hope there’s one (or two) foundations from my top 3 that I’ve tempted you to purchase. Let me know your favourite foundations in the comment box below, maybe they’ll make it into my ‘best foundations of 2015’ post next year!
